Job Description:

The Knowledge manager is a key member of the xx team, working closely with the COO to determine the Vitality Group Knowledge Management strategy and liaising with the respective department and team leaders to facilitate the rollout of Knowledge Management to the business unit.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifying the knowledge critical to the organization; looking beyond technical knowledge (‘know-how) to strategic, business-environmental, people and other knowledge categories (‘know-why’, ‘know-who’ etc.)
  • Maintaining an organisational taxonomy.
  • Ensure structures are in place to capture, validate and disseminate knowledge about VG from business and technical perspectives.
  • Report on roadmap progress.
  • Work with leadership to establish KM as a priority business lever for the business unit and develop means to legitimize and motivate the seeking and sharing of knowledge.
  • Supporting and facilitating knowledge and information creation, codification and dissemination.
  • Ensure a clear strategy is in place to drive the active practice of knowledge management in Vitality Group.
  • Deliver against the strategy – drive the implementation of initiatives identified in the strategy.
  • Setting up and managing a content framework specifying what type of content should be stored in which application(s).

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience working with a learning management system (or other content management application)
  • Tertiary degree or qualification
  • Knowledge management certification
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar position
  • Deep understanding of knowledge management principles
  • Experience with a Learning Management System (or other content management application)
