Job Description:
As an Analytics Engineer you’ll take ownership of the transformation layer in the BI and Data environment. You will prioritise the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of analytic-ready data in the data warehouse. You’ll collaborate with business and other technical teams, utilising fit for purpose technology and methodologies with the aim of providing the business with unambiguous data modelled for insightful, impactful and easily understood analysis.
Job Requirements:
- High end problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of software engineering practices
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of data modelling techniques and best practices
- Building and maintaining data transformations
- Simple solutions to complex problems (need to word this smartly)
- Experience in working in BI & data environments
- Knowledge of data engineering tools
- Fast learner with a curiosity of understanding new technology, systems, processes and business objectives.Teaching others through knowledge sharing sessions and blog posts
- Excellent SQL knowledge and experience
Qualification & Experience:
- Computer Science / Software Engineering experience/training
- Experience with GitHub or other version control repositories
- Experience with at least one major Cloud Data Warehouse Solution (eg. Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery)
- Experience with DBT
- Experience in Retail / eCommerce industry / Data visualisation / BI tools like Pyramid, PowerBI or Qlik
