Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and facilitate the submission of legally compliant IDPs across all 11 municipalities
- Coordinate and facilitate a provincial perspective towards incorporation of DDM into IDPs
- Coordinate and facilitate support for municipalities to develop a capital expenditure framework (CEF)
- Coordinate and Facilitate the development and distribution of MEC commenting letters to 11 municipalities
- Coordinate and Facilitate the submission of 11 municipal final IDPs to MEC for CoGTA
- Coordinate and facilitate engagements with municipalities on the findings of the MEC letters
- Coordinate and facilitate participation in the regional team structures to ensure support to the Sedibeng District with a focus on the Spatial Planning and IDP Pillar
- Guide, coordinate and facilitate sector department participation in the IDP processes
- Coordinate and support individual municipalities to engage sector departments on their IDPs
- Coordinate and facilitate the analysis of IDPs across the province
- Coordinate and facilitate the review of the provincial IDP analysis tool prior to IDP analysis process
- Coordinate and facilitate the consolidation of sectoral findings on draft IDPs and route to municipalities before the end of April for incorporation into the final IDPs in May
- Coordinate and facilitate the incorporation of gazetted GPG projects in municipal final IDPs
- Convene regular sessions in the province to align with IDP priorities and plans
- Coordinate and support municipalities to align their IDPs with national and provincial plans
- Report to administrative and political leadership on the development, process and review of IDPs in the province
- Provide guidance, advice and support on the development, implementation and review of the DDM one plans as part of IDP process planning
- coordinate and facilitate sector department participation and inputs into DDM, one plans linked to IDP priorities
- Coordinate and facilitate the process of reviewing and implementing the Sedibeng one plan
- Coordinate and facilitate the reflection of DDM one plan long-term projects and commitments in 5 year IDPs
- Supervise and solve conflict within the Sub-Directorate/ Division
- Supervise skills development plan of the Sub-Directorate/Division
- Supervise the PDMS within the Sub-Directorate/Division
- Supervise leave management within the Sub-Directorate/Division
- Supervise audit finding and queries of the Sub-Directorate/Division.

- Knowledge and understanding of development planning process and local government planning systems and processes
- A valid driver’s licence.
Qualification & Experience:
- Matric plus NQF level 6/ National Diploma in Town or Urban Planning, Development Planning or relevant qualification, coupled with 3-5 years’ working experience in town/urban/development planning, local government planning or IDP work environment
