Job Description:

Working collaboratively with the wider business, you’ll identify, prioritise and bring to business case a range of digitisation initiatives and improvements to our internal apps and products. The projects will be far ranging, from new staff-facing apps and features, and optimising our use of tools such as Microsoft Office 365, to ensuring our teams can communicate consistently during service disruption with one source of truth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Own the relationships with key suppliers relating as required, managing budgets and contracts to achieve maximum value and cost efficiency and carrying out procurement activities as required
  • Lead and own the strategic product vision and roadmap for digitisation and internal digital product evolution including the LNER staff app ecosystem
  • Work with digital delivery to ensure that digital projects are delivered in line with the PMO’s specified project process, and are on time, within scope and within budget
  • Work closely with our solutions architecture and IT teams to understand existing bottlenecks and the impact of changes on other parts of our digital ecosystem
  • Own the backlog for this roadmap, ensuring specification and prioritisation of features is driven by data / customer insight alongside commercial and other business objectives
  • Carry out regular competitor analysis / monitoring and horizon-scanning to ensure LNER’s digitisation initiatives are best-in-class
  • Work closely with our IT and InfoSec teams on the route to low- and no-code in-house development of internal customer-facing apps.
  • Work with teams across the business and the Business Transformation team to understand internal and external customer needs and pain points, and how to address these through digitisation or improvements to LNER internal digital products
  • Develop data-driven business cases and propositions, and sell to key stakeholders to achieve sign-offs
  • Act as proposition owner and product owner for new digital projects or initiatives relating to digitisation and process optimisation, assessing viability, building compelling business cases, helping to deliver proofs of concept, prototypes, MVPs and fully productionised systems
  • Act as the digital buddy for non-digital stakeholders on relevant projects, helping proposition owners bring their ideas to fruition in a coherent way that will enhance LNER’s digital presence and achieve business goals
  • Collaborate with our customer experience teams to understand impact of new features or projects on business processes and frontline teams

Job Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of web analytics (GA, Tableau) and ability to compile and communicate KPIs effectively
  • Experienced in managing multiple digital projects with significant (£500k+) budgets and delivering on time and on budget to the required scope
  • Hands-on experience in web technologies, including B2C e-commerce
  • Awareness and understanding of all key digital marketing channels (SEO, PPC, Social, Display
  • Excellent communicator, able to build positive, long-lasting relationships with a wide range of stakeholders with effective influencing and negotiating skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to act on your own initiative
  • Naturally collaborative, comfortable working in a fast-paced digital product environment
