Job Description:
A Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) is needed to serve as a Program Specialist with Junior Achievement (JA), a non-profit organization that has been committed to support the world’s youth and prepare them for a better future. In Costa Rica, JA has promoted a number of programs for over 30 years through the contribution of corporate partners, individuals and volunteers who share the same dream. Most of the programs consist of modules that develop aspects of entrepreneurship, employability and financial education. The programs are, in their majority, taught by Volunteers and reach more than 300 schools, colleges and institutions in the country. In recent years, JA Costa Rica has developed a strong collaboration with Peace Corps Costa Rica. Many Community Economic Development Volunteers have implemented JACR programs first hand and are therefore familiar with JA methodologies and materials. In addition, Volunteers have proven to be experienced working with our beneficiary populations (children and youth) and to hold relevant skills in areas like Non-formal Education and Program Design. For this reason, a Peace Corps Response Volunteer is needed to support the growth of JACR.
Job Requirements:
A PCRV with a bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management or related field and with experience in the design and implementation of educational programs is needed to serve as a Program Specialist with JACR. The Response Volunteer is needed to support the implementation of existing programs with a focus on financial education, employability and entrepreneurship. The Volunteer will work with JACR to analyze and review current educational program, develop new educational programs and to train staff and Volunteers. The goal of this assignment is to strengthen the educational programs and opportunities available with JACR.
