Job Description:

Construct Radio and TV process/ system flows, circuit diagrams, sketches, mechanical drawings, layouts etc to accurately portray operational processes in line with technical specialists’/ customer instructions/ engineering sketches

Job Responsibilities:

• Drawings completed within agreed upon time frames
• Construct Radio and TV process/ system flows, circuit diagrams, sketches, mechanical drawings, layouts etc to accurately portray operational processes in line with technical specialists’/ customer instructions/ engineering sketches
• Fully conversant on the computer aided draughting (CAD) system (2-D)
• Updated records of all correspondence/ documentation maintained at all times and to be easily retrievable
• Drawings conform to acceptable engineering and draughting standards and need to be at scale if required
• Mechanical drawings to be readily intelligible for workshop manufacture
• In time supply of specialized labels in accordance with stakeholder requirements in order to accurately identify different locations for wiring/ cabling and equipment

Job Requirements:

• Producing specialized labels in accordance with stakeholder requirements
• Good understanding of broadcasting operational procedures
• Producing Technical Drawings to scale
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of engineering and draughting standards
• Broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical, acoustics, ergonomics and aesthetic concepts
• Advanced understanding and application of Computer Aided Draughting (CAD) system (2-D)
• Producing Radio and TV system flows, circuit diagrams and layouts from engineering sketches
• Knowledge & understanding of flow diagrams
• Maintain and update the SABC building floor plans

Qualification & Experience:

• 3-years’ relevant experience including use of Computer Aided Draughting (CAD)
• Draughting certificate with tertiary institution
