Job Description:

This position serves as the Deputy Program Manager for the Vulcan Phase 2 Launch Services Procurement contract and must be able to plan, organize, and direct contractual and operational aspects of highly complex, high monetary value launch services contracts and task orders. You will join a dynamic leadership team in the Assured Access to Space – Launch Execution Delta, providing national security space launch (NSSL) services to our nation and allied partners. This position will include leading and collaborating with multiple internal and external team members to meet mission goals and objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and directs the progress of contractors in meeting program objectives.
  • Represents the organization at executive levels within the Government and to contractor/industry representatives.
  • Prepares, presents, defends, and interprets staff studies to the Program Director and/or other management officials.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates activities of functional specialists including contracting, engineering, manufacturing, program control, configuration/data management, test, and logistics.
  • Develops, implements, and controls contractual, financial, and technical aspects of a project/program through designated phases of the acquisition cycle for which no closely related precedents exist.

Job Requirements:

  • Employee must pass initial and continued periodic short notice drug testing.
  • Employee must be able to acquire and retain a TOP SECRET clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access in order to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Employee is expected to meet Continuing Acquisition Education requirements.
  • This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
  • Employee may be required to work overtime.
  • The work requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station via military or commercial aircraft.
  • The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DA WIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
