We have a phenomenal opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to interact with multi-functional teams, maintenance, and operations groups to build on existing strategies. Dedication to continuous improvement and providing detailed technical assistance for day-to-day operations within Energy and Utilities will be paramount.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support day to day priorities of the asset Cross Functional Teams (CFT); working with agility and responding to needs of the business
- Use risk analysis, hazard and operability studies, management of change processes, and other safety checks to maintain and improve area safety and reliability performance indicators
- Provide front line support to maintenance and operations by troubleshooting and generating repair scopes of work to address emerging operational equipment issues
- Investigate and perform root-cause analysis of failures
- Lead/support trouble-shooting initiatives providing a clear understanding of the problem and recommend corrective actions
- Use solid engineering and technical knowledge to prepare work scopes and coordinate complex repairs such as equipment overhauling and maintenance projects
- Perform periodic system and equipment checks to maintain a current awareness of system condition and performance
Job Requirements:

- Knowledge of relevant American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and American Petroleum Institute (API) codes
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
Qualification & Experience:
- Four or more years of related work experience with increasing responsibility
- Production facility engineering experience with fixed and rotating equipment such as pressure vessels, boilers, pumps, compressors, and steam turbines
- Experience in reliability management tools such as failure mode effect and analysis (FMEA), reliability centered maintenance (RCM), and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
